2011-02-19 Port Angeles to Neah Bay

It was a great cruise from Port Angeles to Neah Bay. Lou Reynolds crewed for us and we left early in the morning with clear skies and a slight breeze. During the day, the wind increased and the waves got bigger. As we started getting close to the mouth of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, we started feeling the ocean swell which was about 3-4 feet including the wind waves. Saw lots of ships coming into the Puget Sound. The boat handled beautifully in the big waves and we had no problems the entire way.

Unfortunately, Tiramisu was missing when we got to Neah Bay. Shortly after leaving Port Angeles, she ran into the Pilot House from outside and down into the Salon. Never saw her after that. Since she was inside the boat, we know she didn’t fall overboard, so she must be someplace inside the boat; but we can’t find her. There are lots of places for her to hide, but some of them are safe. Not sure what panicked her, but it could be that she didn’t know Lou was on board and freaked out when she saw him. I say that only because I know she’s always afraid of other people and she darted in right after Lou went out on to the back deck. I hope she shows up in the next few days, as I’m heading back to Bothell, by car, on Sunday night.
